Time for a New Home

The cactus that started off as a clipping from my grandma in college has moved homes for the third time. This time, it received a major upgrade. I probably should have done it sooner... but something about potting plants in the spring makes more sense in my head. Also, I planted an herb garden today: rosemary and parsley from seedlings and oregano and dill from seed. Home Depot was out of sweet basil (gasp) so I have to go back next weekend and will probably also pick up some chives. Pictures to come soon. Exciting, I know.

Update: I recieved this email from my granddad this morning ... amazing!

I had to send your note on to your plants great grandmother and yes your Grandmother is proud of you so you get another snail-mail letter later.

================================
Hi Ashley,

This is Sylvie, a long lost relative from New Hampshire. I was married to your grandmother's sister's son Donald. The plant that your grandmother has actually came from me about 26 years ago if memory serves me right. Mine was huge and beautiful and had the most beautiful flowers on it. I lost mine about 15 years ago after Don died and I moved to southern NH and it was hit by a frost. It's so nice to see that the plant is still going strong. Has yours flowered yet? Please keep it going. I still miss mine. Hugs.....Sylvie
